The High Level Group of the Alliance of the Pacific reviewed on Wednesday the draft Declaration of Paracas, a document that will be signed on Friday by the heads of State of Peru, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, at the end of the X Summit this block integration.
Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the bloc’s member countries met in the framework of the preparations for the Summit, in which Peru will receive the Pro Tempore Presidency.
During the meeting, according to the Peruvian Foreign Ministry deputy ministers also they assessed the status of implementation of the presidential mandates in Punta Mita previous Summit, held in 2014.
They also discussed possible new mandates to be included in the Declaration of Paracas, which will be reported to the Council of Ministers of the Pacific Alliance.
Regarding the presidential statement, the Foreign Ministry stressed that the document will contain important new presidential mandates that set the course of the Pacific Alliance.
Another item on the agenda of the meeting was subject to evaluation requests for the ten countries that aspire to become observer states of the alliance.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the final decision rests with the Council of Ministers of the Pacific Alliance, which meets tomorrow.
This Council consists of the ministers of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the four member countries.
Finally, the GAN held meetings with Japan, state observer, which set an agenda for work is maintained; with the Inter-American Development Bank, an institution that supports the mechanism since its incorporation and; with the coordinators of the Business Council, an organization that is composed of representatives of employers’ associations of the four countries.
